Processing film & darkroom work –

The act of creative expression is extended with developing your own film and prints. I’m so enamoured by this process, sometimes I’m blinded during that flow, and then I get this surprise gift at the end, being the final images. With this ownership, process can evolve. I promised myself that once I hit 100 rolls of traditionally developed film, I'd explore alternative processes, and sustainable options. I am currently working on how I can showcase and adopt alternative practices while embracing the changed nature of what is produced as a result. Also, as I return to darkroom printing, I am reminded that as film photographers we can experience the transformation of our images, we have this extra device available to take our art to the next level in the darkroom, which is really a whole craft of its own.
